What is a certified complete decongestive therapist? A trained therapist that will work with you to reduce your lymph congestion. Once it plateaus, a compression garment fitter will properly fit you for your compression garments. These garments can be as neutral or flamboyant as you would like! These garments allow us to support you to manage your condition. With proper maintenance you can live your best life.
When does a complete decongestive therapist get involved? From pre surgery, post surgery and beyond we can work together to meet your Lymphedema needs. What causes Lymphedema? Lymphedema develops for lots of reasons, surgery, family history, filariasis, cancer surgery, radiation and any trauma or pathology that challenges the integrity of the lymphatic system. Extensive wait times for treatment are possible. Lymphedema condition if not managed can progress. We can proactively work together to manage your Lymphedema while you wait. We can also assist you with lifelong management of your Lymphedema. We are a team and together will build a treatment plan that supports your goals. Lymphedema is a condition that can be treated.
